Volleyball in the snow is considered a fairly young sport all over the world. This is because it was added to the official calendar of competitions only in 2015, and in December 2016 this sport received official recognition in the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation and was included in the general register.
For three days, six men's and five women's teams from Moscow, the Moscow Region, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Kazan, Anapa and Novy Urengoy competed for prizes. The district was represented by the women's and men's team of the Novourengoy volleyball club "Torch" and a quartet from the VK "Yamburg". The competitions were broadcast on the Yamal TV channel, Impulse of the North, Start, on the Yamal-Media website, in the VKontakte social network group SnowVolleyRu, the final games were shown by the country's main sports TV channel Match! Game" and "MATCH TV".
The AMAKS Polar Star Hotel was happy to host participants of such a large-scale competition and became a real home away from home for them!
